EN 590

EN 590 is the European standard specification for automotive diesel fuel. It defines the requirements and test methods for marketed diesel across Europe. EN 590 diesel has a maximum sulfur content of 10 parts per million, making it an ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel. Its strict standards ensure reduced emissions of particulate matter and improved air quality. EN 590 diesel is suitable for use in passenger cars, trucks, buses, locomotives, inland marine vessels, and agricultural/construction equipment. Its cetane number, density, lubricity, and cold filter plugging point parameters are set to optimize performance in modern high-speed direct injection diesel engines. EN 590 is the mandated automotive diesel grade across the European Union, promoting cleaner combustion and environmental sustainability in the transportation sector.
